Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Lander Collins Jr., is a military retired veteran of the United States Air Force and the Atlanta VA Medical Center.  For almost Fifty years, Pastor Lander Collins Jr. has been married to the love of his life, First Lady Mellinee Ponder Collins and to this union were born three children and six grandchildren. Pastor Collins received a Masters of Divinity Degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) under the auspices of the Charles H. Mason Seminary. 

Pastor Collins is an Ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ and was ordained under the jurisdictional leadership of the late Bishop J. A. Blake of Southern California Jurisdiction #1, and continued under the leadership of Bishop Charles E. Blake. And after spending 11 years in Southern California, Pastor Collins and his family returned home to Central Georgia under the Jurisdictional and Pastoral leadership of the late Bishop John Dale Husband and Mother Gwendolyn Howard.  Pastor Collins  continue to serve under the current leadership of Bishop Norman O. Harper, Prelate of South Central Georgia Jurisdiction. 

For over 23 years  Pastor Collins served at Greater Community Church Of God In Christ under the auspices of the late Bishop Chandler Owens and was assigned various ministerial tasks. He was the Sunday School Teacher for the Married Couples’ Class, he was assigned to visit the Sick and Shut-In members and to serve them Holy Communion. Pastor Collins says he was especially honored by Bishop Owens to be appointed as the weekly Facilitator and Instructor for the Mid-Week Bible Study.  In the community, Pastor Collins was  a Volunteer Chaplin for WellStar Hospital of Georgia and a Volunteer Chaplin for the Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta Georgia. 

The call to Pastoral Ministry was a momentous milestone in Pastor Collins’ life and he is most grateful that God entrusted him to be the founder and Shepherd to the wonderful Saints of New Vineyard Church Of God In Christ, located in Mableton Georgia. 

As Pastor Collins’ journey continues, it is his ultimate goal to keep pressing towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus and looking to the Author and Finisher of his Faith!  May God Be Glorified In All That We Say and Do!
